Just Blaben’s review published on Letterboxd:
Not nearly as insufferable as Vice, but still too annoying for its own good. I respect when a film can be this ambitious and I agree with practically all of the political opinions on display. Yet, when the tone is just jumbled and the filmmaking this misguided I can't help but find myself rolling my eyes.
Thankfully some of the performances and jokes land, this movie takes it self far less seriously than some of Adam's recent efforts with his other "important Oscar films". It's just that it's incredibly bloated and heavy handed. In comparison to something like Dr. Strangelove, it spends far more time trying tell me it's message verbatim yet says far less because it's all on the surface. Never once taking advantage of the fact it's a visual medium. Which is ironic considering how much shorter that movie is in comparison to this one.
