*A former addict’s review of Beautiful Boy*

Beautiful Boy is an incredibly realistic journey through addiction. If you have ever dealt with addiction yourself, or had a family member/ loved one go through addiction, then this will be a very hard movie to watch.

The father and son relationship between Steve Carell and Timothee Chalamet is the core of the movie, and it really takes you through the peaks and valleys of that relationship. Chalamet gives a unequaled performance. His…

Move over Quentin Tarantino- you may have just been upstaged by Drew Goddard in your own genre, at least in respect to some of your weaker films. With less reliance on profanity and comedy, and more reliance on darkness and vocabulary, Goddard has presented a brilliant film. Witty, quirky, original, violent, and complex, Bad Times is a roller coaster of a film. Think Pulp Fiction or The Hateful Eight, but rather than being derivative, borrows…

I don’t really know how to review this. It’s interesting and funny, but Maher’s arrogant smugness really puts a dent in the documentary’s validity.

I’m going to steal this quote:
“An ill-prepared and passionless Bill Maher takes cheap shots at belief. It’s amusing to a point, but far from deep.”

I don’t have a whole lot to say about this one! It’s just a fun little game of cat and mouse with a few weird quirks... including sloppiness.

This movie really reminded me of:
    John Q
    • Speed
    • Die Hard 3
    16 Blocks
And that’s good because I find all 4 four of those flicks tons of fun!

Affleck might have been a tad miscast, but the editing and camerawork choices here were almost ahead of their time. Pretty neat. 👌🏻

I could try to dissect this movie, but what’s the point? This movie isn’t good. You knew that, you saw the trailer. I went in with absolutely ZERO expectations and this movie was fun as fuck.
Not sure why people are shitting on Hardy’s performance. He was ridiculous, and that was the point. There’s a damn alien in his ass!

Whatever, nothing in this movie deserves to be argued about. It’s fun, it entertained me. Leaps and…

It’s 5 stars. It’s been 5 stars. It will always be 5 stars.

I 100% credit this movie with the creation of a very close friendship of mine. Always grateful.
