The Tale of the Princess Kaguya 2013
Something was definitely different with this Studio Ghibli film, compared to the other ones I've seen. Firstly, the art style is unique, unlike anything I've ever seen before. Takes some time to get used to, but once I did, I was immersed. It was simplistic, yet beautiful at the same time. The Babadook 2014
The Babadook is most probably the best horror movie film of the year 2014. In terms of horror conventions, the movie is quite amazing, especially for it being a low budget, first time movie from director Jennifer Kent. The new relatively unknown leading cast members were also really good and looked genuinely engrossed into their roles.
