D Edward’s review published on Letterboxd:
This sequel makes the jump between Slumber Party Massacre and Slumber Party Massacre II seem subtle by comparison. The original C.H.U.D. is one of the grimiest-feeling horror films of the 80’s. That synth score, ooh baby. Nasty. Then, Bud the C.H.U.D. rises from his slab and has the soul for getting down. It’s such a radical shift, but I dig it. The movie keeps at a good pace, has an animated performance from cult star Gerrit Graham, and an awesome explosive ending at a Halloween dance party. Yeah, baby, this is my happy place. Shame the comedy isn’t a little stronger, but what can ya do?
