    Dial M for Murder

"I can tell it's going to be a rough evening, all of us saying nice things to each other."

It strikes me that with its similar setup, this is almost an anti-Strangers on a Train, and works well to play against your expectations if you're think it's going to play out similarly.

It's also a good entry point and intro for true crime fans to some deeper cuts of Hitch's filmography because the plot is structured and plays out in a way that lets the viewer play along as the crime is happening, and also as the detective tries to solve it.

"It's the things you say, it's almost like you're from another world!"

This one feels a little bit like a reboot of the Beach Party series, it has most of the same reoccurring cast and they're playing similar characters but have different names for some reason? There's a new director on this one and the jokes are similar but not quite the same jokes in the previous three.

The plot of this one is the most crazy (Martians trying to…

"She wasn't bad looking for a girl, personally I prefer a hopped up motor."

Taking a step back from the Beach Party films for a second, to watch a couple earlier AIP hot rod movies that inspired the Beach Party films.

Unsurprisingly this was not only an influence on the Beach Party films but also on American Graffiti. The car racing scenes are really cool, the "teen problems" scenes are not, but at least the teen slang in this is truly incredible, and the inclusion of Gene Vincent's music made this worthwhile for me.

"Unless his ghost digs The Watusi."

Skipping the next couple Beach Party spin offs for now to get to what many consider the last of the core series (even though Frankie and Annette are nowhere to be found in this one.) This time the Beach Party formula goes to... a haunted house!?

This is kind of The Cat and the Canary-lite which would have been fine on its own, but like the previous couple of Beach Party movies, they decided…

I don't think I fully "got it," but I really, really dug it.

How come other countries can do animated features for adults, and when America tries it we just get Sausage Party?

    Invader ZIM: Enter the Florpus

    "I ate a baby there!"

Some things don't change much over time and that's exactly the way people like it. As far as tone and intent Invader Zim hasn't changed at all and fans are going to love that. The major change here is the art direction and design, and that's all greatly improved!

I'm not even a huge fan of this series and I was pretty into this: Some of the jokes are really great, there's some animation surprises throughout, and I never thought I'd say this but, I think I'd even watch another Invader Zim series if it continued from here!
