Okay so the opening scene to this film is straight up ridiculous, President Cleveland starts saying he opposes the selling of the Cherokee Strip because he knows it's a bad deal for the Native Americans, but he's going to approve of it anyway because both houses want it and he truly believes they represent the will of the American people.

😤 Phew. Okay if you can get past that the rest of the film really isn't that bad. That was…

A very juvenile and immature film about fragile male egos ...which really says a lot about the man who made it.

I don't know what I was expecting out of this film but whatever that was, this isn't that. It's an uniquely sympathetic film about the bandit Sam Bass, the more others wrong him, the more crime he does, and I kind of really dug that! Yvonne De Carlo takes a bit more of a secondary role in the story (despite her character's name being up front,) her acting isn't amazing here but damn is she hot as the badass frontiers[person] Calamity Jane.

I don't think I fully "got it", but I really, really dug it.

How come other countries can do animated features for adults, and when Americans try it we just get Sausage Party?

"I do not think that you will be seeing President Pierce again."

This is closer to what you'd expect when you imagine a western made by the Coens than their version of True Grit was (and I'm not quite sure how I feel about that.) It's surely one of the most beautiful and violent westerns I've ever seen.

One thing that I really loved about this film is that every story contained in it is a riff on a completely…
