honestly, preparing two fried egg sandwiches, pulling up a blanket and watching a good romcom on a thursday night is the best kind of movie experience.

Haven't been able to get this one out of my head since I saw it on MUBI two years ago. So naturally I bought a French edition DVD off Amazon. Still great.

A lot better on second watch for some reason. Ferguson is boss. And isn't it kinda weird that both Ghost Protocol and Rogue Nation feature prominent Swedish-speaking characters?

Covering up bad storytelling with jokes only gets you so far. The X-force scenes are gold though. And I better get a movie about Negasonic Teenage Warhead and her girlfriend next.

    ★★★

Rare Swedish documentary about American soldiers who deserted from Vietnam and sought political asylum in neutral Sweden, their relationship with the governments of the two countries and the NLF-supporters in Sweden. Told mostly through reenactments and scripted interpretations of events with the G.I.s playing (versions of) themselves. More interesting as a document of 1968 and a political statement than actual movie making art, but that's as intended, and it's good nonetheless.
