Saw this with a live organist. Can’t believe the 80-something year old guy played perfectly & uninterrupted for over 2 hours?? Good shit.
Was totally immersed until the dude behind us decided he needed to impress his date with constant one-liners (including yelling “she’s your cousin!!” every time Marcus did anything).
But regardless, impressive stuff.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
EDIT 2: No, I tried to see the "good" in the movie because of all the praise, but it really isn't deserved. This movie is just dumb and bad when you get to the core of it. It's not doing anything interesting. Maybe if you squint really hard it might. If this is what "feminist film" is supposed to look like...don't want any of it! In the end, this movie hates women and women's anger more than it lets on.…
This film is unethical and disgusting. John and Yoko don't care about another human's sanity and well being for the sake of art. Do people not realize the subject was actually being followed and she was terrified of reporting anything because she was an illegal immigrant? You can't say that this makes a statement on rape culture or male toxicity when a woman thinks the situation is real. This isn't art, it's harassment.
