Fantastic genre-blending, intricately layered, pretty airtight story that still leaves room for mental flexibility and exploration. Peele’s third film is an entertaining film with a strong emotional core.

Thor: Love and Thunder 2022
I think the audience’s expectations of Waititi were way too high but even going into this movie indifferent/not high expectations, I wasn’t motivated to feel strongly about a lot in this film. However, the ending scene is stunning in all filmmaking senses and Christian Bale is a master class in a sea of clowns (both tonally and critically).

The Batman 2022
A transformative take on Gotham that stands out & makes all 3 of its hours worth it, even if it can burn out a bit towards the end. All the performances are stellar - yes, even Robert Pattinson’s Chalamet-esque Bruce Wayne uncertain about & traumatized from the weight of his legacy, social responsibility, and personal history. Gotham’s six degrees of separation from New York City in this movie are kinda hysterical.

Knives Out 2019
A movie perfectly constructed in all three acts, Knives Out is a masterclass from Rian Johnson & crew. Weaves humor alongside pointed social commentary from Johnson’s Star Wars days impeccably and is buoyed by an amazing breakout performance from Ana de Armas. Between this and Logan Lucky Daniel Craig needs to do more comedy (his accent was STELLAR and I will not hear otherwise)
