World War Z 2013
Brad Pitt runs from zombies for two hours, and looks back every time to ponder stuff while keeping a steady pace with everyone running around him.

Inside Man 2006
A very Spike Lee bank robbery. What is up with that one weird shot of Denzel that takes you out of the entire film?

White House Down 2013
It's the less violent version of Olympus Has Fallen. It's just as stupid as that movie is, but in other ways. I don't know which I liked more.

Kick-Ass 2 2013
This movie was really given a bad rap. I had fairly low expectations going into it and I think it was just as enjoyable as the first one. It has its flaws with story and how it treats Hit Girl's character, but if anything, the first act of the film is much more inspiring than anything in the first movie. What I'm trying to say is: movie good. Fun watch. Good video.

Thor: The Dark World 2013
The first half was laughable and boring, the second half was laughable in a different way, but very cool. Enjoyable, although it tries to be way smarter than it is. Better than the first one. A few nice jokes, a few dumb ones, a few unintentionally hilarious moments. It's a superhero movie, alright.

Natural Born Killers 1994
This is the kind of thing where if the director ever asked me what I thought of it, I'd stare blankly for a few seconds before saying "y'know, it was interesting" in a high-pitched voice.

No Strings Attached 2011
A very funny script that is clearly the work of the hilarious showrunner behind one of my favorite comedies on television (Elizabeth Meriwether, of New Girl.) The film is a lot better than I think most people expect it to be, and although it was probably hurt by being released in close proximity to the very similar Friends With Benefits, I would say it's not a bad movie by any stretch. Jake Johnson, Greta Gerwig, Ludacris, and Mindy Kaling kill it in secondary roles, too. Kevin Kline is weirdly unrecognizable to me in it.

Mike Birbiglia: My Girlfriend's Boyfriend 2013
Equal parts hilarious and emotional, a wonderful performance from Mike Birbiglia that is similar in tone to his incredible 2012 film "Sleepwalk With Me." Calling this a stand-up set isn't really fair- as comedic as it is, it's also a truly honest and touching series of stories about relationships and love that happens to be rather funny. Can't recommend enough.

American Beauty 1999
Very good film, but I'm having trouble deciphering the greater, supposedly-pretentious meaning that fueled so many teens and young adults to become filmmakers in the early 2000s.
