Dereck’s review published on Letterboxd:
Watching this on the big screen is just bliss.
Everything I said in my last review is the same. The performances are top notch, the writing is so clever, cinematography is beautiful, and the direction is so precise. I can’t stop wondering though what is missing. Something is, and while it is definitely not holding me back from loving this film, it is making me stop short of calling it a masterpiece. This seems to always happen with Yorgos’ films: The trailers seem to be marketing one movie and the final result is something different. This is a good thing (I like surprises) but I just wish there was something else added to make me fall head over heels for this film.
This is worthy of all the nominations it received from the Academy, and I hope it wins quite a few of them.
