This was scarier than the majority of horror movies today.
A secret love that was never meant to be, told in unique fashion.
Throughout the whole movie the viewer is used as a voyeur, who's watching these two trying to be together without raising suspicion of what is really going on. Wong Kar-Wai accomplishes that feature by almost always framing the actors in hallways, doors and windows or by obstructing a clear view so the viewer is on the outside looking in. Exceptionally well made.
Watch this on your first date and it'll probably be your last cause it probably isn't worth the suffering anyway.
A movie so sad but yet so beautiful. Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams deliver deeply moving performances, because every single word they say and every emotion they express seem real.
