I really wanted this to be a straight 4 at worst. Of course I never take in any promotional material beyond posters and short plot synopses so all I had to go on was my appreciation for Emma Stone and well written villainesses. Sounded like a match made in heaven (or hell for that matter) on paper.
And to be honest it is a damn good movie as far as visuals are concerned. No problems with any of the actors…
The movie didn't exactly do a good job of keeping the mystery but then again even if I haven't watched that particular story be told before today's cineasts have definitely seen a lot more than those of the 70s. If you keep track of all the details in the dialogue it can definitely make you feel like an attentive spectator but really I feel if you watched this on mute with no subtitles you would still have a fairly good…
What a stupid movie. I'm pretty sure I myself became stupider just watching it. Everything except a certain testicle-related revelation was oh so foreseeable yet somehow it still manages to surprise with seemingly endless amounts of ludicrosity in its story. Stay far away. There are too many excellent movies for all kinds of tastes out there to waste our finite time in this world on a cliché-infested disaster of this magnitude.
