I have thought a lot about this movie after seeing it; going back and forth about what I like and didn’t like about it. Overall I see Spike Lee’s vision and stance on the issues presented. With that being said this movie falls short in a lot of places. Incredible performances from Adam Driver and John David Washington carry the film while scenes in between theirs really fall flat beginning to feel a bit repetitive as the film nears the end. On the whole it feels a bit too rooted in recent issues to become fully invested.
