It should have been a stand-alone film existing in the Blade Runner universe that focused on Gosling's existential crisis. Instead the unpleasant Harrison Ford is shoe-horned into the film with little pay-off. Have some balls hollywood... The mood is good and some of the photography is exceptional but flaws, flaws, flaws.
I don't think this is really about capitalism, the media, or even a psychopath. For my money, Lou Bloom is an intelligent eccentric with somewhat anti-social tendencies. The key lies in a candid piece of dialogue when Lou retorts, "what if it's not that I don't understand people, maybe I just don't like them?"
