Dakota Arsenault’s review published on Letterboxd:
This movie is two things. Firstly a lushly imagine and creative way to tell the story of someones life through song, dance and costume in unique and interesting ways. The other part is a by the numbers musical bio-pic that tries too hard to pull at your heart strings and make you pity the lead character, which in turn does neither.
Unfortunately this film will always be connected with Bohemian Rhapsody, and it is far superior. While it's not Best Picture nominee worthy, it absolutely should have been nominated for Costume Design, Hair and Makeup, Sound Editing and Mixing and of course Lead Actor.
