Film peaked in 2017 after Boss Baby was released and has been on a clear downward trajectory ever since. Prove me wrong.

“I’m not fine! And that’s a totally reasonable response!”

Well, you wait all year for a 5/5 film and two come at once. I didn’t know too much about this film before going in, but everything about it just completely worked for me. An absolutely heartwarming and lovely film from the moment it began right till those utterly gorgeous final moments. It feels like a warm hug of a film and it was exactly what I needed today. …

    “They hear everything.”

Certainly different to what I expected, but different in all the right ways. Less of a biopic about Diana Spencer and more of a character study. The look into the mind of someone who feels totally lost and isolated, on the brink of losing self control. It really puts the audience into her shoes, leaving you feeling as lost and out of depth as the character herself does.

Firstly, Kristen Stewart’s performance is just as…

“Just relax, and let your mind go blank.”

Do you like Pocahontas but wish it featured blue aliens and even more boring characters? This is a first time watch, maybe if I had seen it when it first got released in theatres when I was younger I would have been more impressed? I doubt it though, while the visuals are still impressive, and the world around the Na’vi is luscious and spectacular, there really is little else that…

“No one’s made a good Stab movie since the first!”

I think Scream might now be my favourite horror franchise? It’s certainly the most consistent at the very least. Another ten years since the previous movie in the franchise, and another ten years for the makers of the film to decide what to lampoon next. This time it’s ‘requels’, poking fun at movies that use nostalgia to hide unoriginality, thankfully while it is…

“Can the spider come out and play?!”

Well, guess I got a new favourite film of the year and favourite MCU movie in one go. It was great to see this in a packed out cinema, with plenty of lovely reactions to even the littlest moments here. Spider-Man is my all time favourite hero, and this film, for me, ticked all my boxes. I’m not going to spoil anything but for as much fan service as…

“Did anyone check if the weasel could swim?!”

This is everything the first movie promised and didn’t deliver. A fun, action packed, gore-soaked team up movie with a heavy dose of dark comedy that actually manages to come together. The action is great, and there’s plenty of unexpected moments that came as a pleasant surprise. It’s probably the best DCEU film to date, never a moment that feels dull or slow, it’s fast paced and knows exactly what…
