    The Oedipal theme in a horror genre is an interesting idea, however, some of the elements and characters like the dirty, bigoted, ignorant lieutenant detective were ill-placed in the story. It was a struggle to be drawn into, very campy and not really exciting; the editing with freeze frame were offputting and the overbearing eerie, ominous musical tones didn’t create any cool, creepy emotional connection to this movie either.     I did find that 2-minute scene of Angela going around back trying to go unnoticed with the baby Jesus she innocently stole from St. Joseph’s church to keep warm, pretty funny. “One, two, three. Hup!” Angela’s attempts to get the baby Jesus over the wall, lands him in her neighbor, Mrs. Blake’s yard by the trash bins with a dented forehead. Angela’s reaction and remarks to baby Jesus were cute for a little kid her age, as she’s then caught by her older brother, Pat, on his way to the bathroom out back. That baby Jesus replica must of been made of some tough porcelain though...
