Diego Roque’s review published on Letterboxd:
What the actual fuck?
I didn't love this movie as I would have liked, but I sure enjoyed it. Even though it's not written by Lanthimos, he was able to put his stamp on all over this movie, from the cinematography with those fisheye lens shots and with that clever and dry humor that causes a weird feeling in the audience.
The story is odd and very quirky sometimes, but somehow works and never became boring, actually, it's very interesting. Making a period piece like this works with a capable director and with a tight script, but also works perfectly with tremendous performances by the entire cast, everyone here is great, Olivia Colman, Rachel Weisz, Emma Stone are superb and so is Nicholas Hoult.
It fascinates me, how Yorgos is the kind of director that makes unique and strange films that goes deeper into my psyche. He's probably one of my favorite directors right now.
