Bubble ★★½

In dissing that Demme Timberlake film (no offense to JD, it's not his fault JT's music is dull as shit) I referred to cinephilic pleasure as what happens in the absence of any actual pleasure. That's this for me: I could only really key into it in terms of Soderbergh's use of camera movements, framing, and so on, but couldn't engage with it on any of the levels that people normally watch movies for. No wonder Cuban didn't fight Soderbergh for the five more of these he was promised on his HDNet contract.
