Hereditary ★★★½

Masterfully crafted, often startling and surprising. Rating will rise or fall depending on if I figure out whether the story actually made sense (I mean, the exposition at the end is abundantly all too clear; I'm speaking more to what's mental illness, what's supernatural, who's doing what, how did THAT get THERE, et cetera). Mad respect to a filmmaker who makes a film so dark that anyone who downloads it will miss the point of several key scenes due to pixelization.
