Torque ★★★

I don't like doing the "how do you rate x" multiple times in a week, but seriously, how do you rate something that has this much directing style to burn (from split diopter shots to highly dynamic yet crisp and clear action to a scene set on a carousel for literally no reason except for visual dynamism), a script with the brains of a turnip, Ice Cube chasing Martin Henderson over a train on motorcycles, CGI that would have been cut-rate then, and Adam Scott as an FBI agent, and Nickelback playing over the closing credits? In the end, I decided on one star for every dolly zoom on Ice Cube, which seems as arbitrary as any other way to evaluate this wonderfully watchable piece of entertainment.
