Last Night in Soho

Last Night in Soho ★★½

There is a lot to admire in Last Night in Soho, but I found it to be quite lazy. The build-up is quite enticing. When it gets to the third act, it's a complete misfire. Aesthetically you can't fault it, but Wright doesn't deliver much originality. You can see what films he is referencing, but at least he could have made his own stamp on it.

There is a lot of momentum to it, don't get me wrong, but all these components never gel. Anya Taylor-Joy and Thomasin McKenzie were very captivating indeed and delivered what I found to be the true core of the film.
