    The Swarm

Impressive with its use of practical effects and incredible action sequences, "The Swarm" highlights these sections brilliantly but it falls into a huge setback with its acting.

Michael Caine and Christian Juttner are the only performers giving riveting performances while everyone else coasts their way through with such wooden to dull acting.

The use of the hornets and some of its stunts are outstanding.

    Fire in the Sky

Based on allegedly true events of an Alien Abduction, "Fire in the Sky" executes a compelling nightmare of the unknown and the uncertainty. The set up and storytelling is delivered with a kind of intensity that adds to the characters fear and paranoia but it does linger on the dramatics in an over the top fashion.

Regardless, "Fire in the Sky" manages to hold your attention and keeps you engaged through this classic abduction tale.

Of course, a nightmare flashback involving a science experiment with aliens is one of the most memorable and scariest moments within in the film.

    Cries and Whispers

Ingmar Bergman's haunting drama surrounding grief and desire is executed with terrific talent from the actors to its dream state storytelling.

"Cries and Whispers" showcases Bergman's intimacy with his actors and how he perfectly writes his characters to fit those tremendous talents. From the scene of the Doctor talking about the imperfections of one of the sister's faces to a realization of another to a husband she does not desire in her life. The direction altogether is mesmerizing.
