It certainly keeps all the promises made by the hype, at least for the biggest part of the film. It's a shame that it turns out all the cliches in the final act.
Most jokes work really well and that has a lot to with the fantastic two leads. They bounce off each other really well and provide for 90% of the entertainment.
I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected, so as a piece of inoffensive, light entertainment it is very successful indeed.
