  This is without a doubt the worst MCU film up to this point. The movie fails completely to strike the balance between humor and seriousness that these films has been so consistently good at maintaining. This film seem to embrace every ridiculous aspect of the genre in what almost looks like self-mockery. While the genre clearly is unrealistic and even silly at times you still have a responsibility to the film and the characters to make it work. But here…

  Great film for movie enthusiasts. My dad found it hard to sit through when we watched it together. The storytelling is very realistic and the pacing is slow and true to ordinary life. The film also leave a lot to the viewer himself to put together. Scenography and acting is impeccable.

  I had pressed the little 'love'-button for this film but I unmarked it after just having rewatched the film for the first time since I saw it in the cinema 21 years ago. At the time I had met a friend who had just seen the movie and who told me "This film simply cannot be overhyped!".   'A Bittersweet Life' is one of my favourite films of all time. Byung-hun's acting is so subtle and he's absolutely perfect in this role.

  The introduction of the gangster boss girlfriend is clever. The camera is on the face of Sun-woo (the leading man) as we first see her legs as she is changing shoes. Then we see her bent over a package as she move a strand of hair over her ear. Only then does she raise her head…
