    Kingdom of Heaven

It's epic alright. Huge fights throughout. Atmospheric. Support cast brilliant.

Not so sure about Bloom. Maybe meet halfway between him and Crowe?

  • John Carter

    John Carter

Saturday night and I couldn't decide what to watch so when I looked at John Carter and mars was mentioned, why not.

It's not the best film you'll ever watch but it's certainly not the worst either.

It's all about a cowboy/ex soldier who is transported to mars. A bit like Superman, gravity means he has a certain set of strengths.

Carter finds himself in the middle of a civil war. Which side will he choose. Will he escape from…

  • Battleship

A real slow start to this film. Can't think of a film starting off so slowly. Terrible really.

It's got better though, then got ridiculous.

Best description I could give is: a silly action romp.

Worth a watch just for the laugh and the boat doing a hand brake turn.

  • Midnight Cowboy

    Midnight Cowboy

A New Years resolution of line was to watch more classic movies which I haven't seem before. Tonight I got to see Midnight Cowboy.

This film is always on lists of must see films. I didn't disappoint. Hoffman (Ratso) and Voight (Joe) are a joy to watch. The latter being a little naive having decided to move to New York.

They're both broke and they live in rather squalid conditions. It's all about the small highs which is perfectly illustrated…

  • Taken 2

    Taken 2

I watched this film at the cinema which had a 12 rating and now I've watch the Extended Hardened Edition. The latter is much better.

I'm a fan of the first Taken and of course this is along the same path. It's not as good as the first one, but it's still an action film to sit down and enjoy on a Sunday afternoon.

  • Almost Famous

    Almost Famous

15 year old William Miller on a journey with Stillwater and trying to get an interview with Rolling Stone magazine in 1973.

Rock n Roll is dying. Lester Bangs tells us as much.

I can't believe I've never watched this film before. I've always noticed it, just always been tempted by other movies. I now wish i'd seen it in 2000. What this film does is drag you in to the life of William and you feel part of the…

  • Secretary

At the very heart of this film is a love story. Not your run of the mill love story, but a love story none the less.

Lee (Gyllenhaal) is a recovering self harmer and has problems at home, where she lives with her parents. When Lee starts working as a secretary for Mr Grey (Spader) she find an 'out' from self harming and from this a beautiful relationship starts to form.

On the sly I'm a rom com fan and…
