It’s so wonderfully charming and such a good time. I smile wide every time I watch it. Judy Garland is wonderful as always, but I think Virginia O’Brien is my favorite. When she’s in the blacksmiths shop singing her song and shoeing the horses it’s pretty awesome.
My absolute favorite scene is when Judy Garland walks into the saloon with the two pistols and holds them up for the steaks they stole. It’s really fantastic.

The scenery is utterly majestic, scaling the hills of Spain and panning over the coliseum and Rome it is shot so beautifully I can’t express how beautiful it all is.
I think my absolute favorite part of the character development in this film is the leadership qualities in Maximus and how he is capable of so much in such a short time. Winning over his men in all he does is absolutely inspiring and mesmerizing.

The use of time jumps in this film are really well done and it is extremely entertaining to figure out how all of the situations we are given are linked. Plus there are a copious amount of actors in this that you sit there and pull out as you watch and that is one of the most entertaining parts of the film. The plot though ridiculous is well maintained and engaging. It’s definitely worth a watch.
