Absolutely phenomenal! I wish I made this film.
I lived a very similar life when I was a teenager. I was caught in the thralls of addiction and a slave to my junkie boyfriend who supplied me with my fix on a daily basis.
This film portrays the dark reality of addiction and the abusive, sexually dominant power dynamic of toxic romantic relationships with extreme care and sensitivity, while not shying away from the harsh realities…

    Leave No Trace

"You hear this guttural sobbing when a 75-year-old man recounts something that happened to him when he was 13 as if it was yesterday. When you hear that you understand alcoholism and drug abuse. Because their just trying to dull it down. They got this little record player in their head that never turns off... ever. No matter what they're doing."

This film is so important. That quote brought me to tears, because it resonated so…

Stunning, surreal, took me into a world I didn't want to leave. I simply wanted to sit in this film for hours and learn and absorb as much as I could. This film would pair excellently with Saint Maud and First Reformed.

Such a creative and unique take on adolescence and the struggles and turmoil that come along with being young, the expectations of others and the perception you have of yourself. Visualizes the heavy burden of feeling that everything is your fault, which is amplified especially when you are young. This film touches on so many aspects, such as parental abuse, eating disorders, self harm, and the relationship you have with yourself.

Caleb Landry Jones portrays gentleness and brutality all at once. I truly believe he is one of the most talented actors of our current time. This film shows gently, the slow cracks in one man's psyche, leading him down a path to the ultimate act of destruction.

Really, really tough watch, but absolutely essential, because it is Jodie Foster's BEST!

  • The Night Doctor

    The Night Doctor

The French version of Good Time and I freaking love it! Atmospheric and haunting. Doesn't hold back on showing the harsh reality of what drugs/dealing can do to a person and how it can affect their life.

  • The Deep House

    The Deep House

Cool premise, but I would have preferred a creature feature. It would have given this more depth.

I can just curl up in this film. Bask in its quietness and tranquility. Feel every moment, every color, the waves, the beach, the house. So comfortable, so cozy, so wonderful.
