Matthias Bergleiter’s review published on Letterboxd:
Trying very, very hard to kickstart a new Pirates-of-the-Caribbean-like franchise. It trades Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp for Emily Blunt, Jack Whitehall and The Rock (really not a bad trade), semi-naturalistic impressive SFX for superglossy-HDR SFX (a trade that emphasizes the theme park ride roots) and an iconic score for a very non-memorable one with a weirdly misplaced cover of "Nothing Else Matters" (a really bad trade).
The result is charming and fun, but really absurdly harmless. Blunt and The Rock are great, though, and may make this worth the two hours spent.
