50 First Dates ★★★½

Very sweet, understated rom-com with enough strong tomfoolery to attain cross-genre luster. Sandler and Barrymore have a tender chemistry (as also evidenced by 1998's otherwise overrated "The Wedding Singer"), with director Peter Segal attaining a nice balance between cute romantic staples, typical Happy Madison shenanigans and his amusing amnesia funded hook. Sandler and Barrymore are extraordinarily likable together and the Hawaiian setting is photogenically captured. A very affable popcorn flick.
