I saw this as a kid in the theater when it first came out. I don’t even remember anything about it, and before I knew who Wes Anderson was, I had always thought this was just some random animated movie. Little did I know that I was watching a masterpiece. This might just be Anderson’s best work, although I still slightly prefer Grand Budapest Hotel. The stop motion animation is absolutely amazing. The story is charming and funny, and the length is perfect. I’m pretty sure this film is flawless.
