DM05’s review published on Letterboxd:
After reading countless reviews, an Indiewire interview with Charlie Kaufman, and watching analysis videos, I watched the film again. There’s still things about the film that I don’t know how to interpret, but think I understand most of it. The themes are very similar to those in Synecdoche, New York, but I found that film to be much more powerful. ITOET is so rewatchable, so incredibly well-written, so meticulously crafted, and so deep with meaning, but it didn’t effect me as much as I wish it did for some reason. I think it’s great, but I’m not sure I like it more than Kaufman’s other work I’ve seen.
