I have always thought of the towers as a symbol of the impact of terror in the civilized world. A meme for resentment, indignation and wrath.
That's probably because I never went to New York, so as an outsider, all it reminds me is that feeling of dispair and agony.
Zemeckis changed that in a very deep sense with this movie.

This is that kind of movie that will outlast its generation just as its predecessors did before itself. A new-born classic, perfectly standing with respectful presence in the present-day film industry.
George Miller delivers us a delightful mix of a tenacious action and an impactful thriller. A mesmerizing picture of chaos and despair in the vast wasteland. And the soundtrack holds us on as the subtle transitions leads us from the tragic misery through madness of its final act.

    What a lovely day.

The craziest one so far. Tyrese Gibson making everybody laugh the whole movie, Dwayne "One Line" Johnson acting as Schwarzenegger in Commando, Kurt Russell being... well, himself.
Statham makes a great villain, showing his badassness from the very first shot. The tribute to Paul Walker makes a little shift in the mood of the movie, yet it was kinda expected and doesn't make the movie less fun because of it.
