Dan Nordquist’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is good, but I expected much more. I have the same problems here that I had with Big Eyes: you can't really tell an honest story about someone when they're a consultant on the film itself. In the end, I don't know that I really believe everything here happened the way Brian Wilson says it did.
Now that I know what it is, I'll probably enjoy it more, but I think I'll still have a problem with how one-sided it is. (My issues with the story and the script are nearly eclipsed by some really, really good performances, so if you can focus on that, you'll probably have a better time than I did.)
