Is it better than the first? Yes.
Does that make it worth watching? No.
It is still more predictable than death and taxes and with flat, uninteresting characters, but at least the tribute to real-life firefighters is commendable and it does a good job with handling its public service parts.

Battlefield Earth isn't that bad. Yeah, I said it! People point to this film as an unintentional comedy or a gem of "so-bad-it's-good" filmmaking, but I enjoyed it for a bit more than that. And I feel if I had watched this movie blind, I may still have enjoyed it nonetheless. It has been said no matter how panned a film may be, there is always someone, somewhere who enjoys it.
