A plea for understanding.
The changes are great. Heightening the subjectivity of Donnie while maintaining the community at large and Donnie slowly diving into the dark side of Americana and its own juvenile mentality battling with projections of his own oppressors. Like Southland Tales, highlights (specially in its last moments) the work as a collective multimedia experience where, rather than the film being a inherent perspective of religious doubt and conservative education extending to paradoxes and breaks in the universe, it becomes a constant and evolving vision of the culture at large by making the audience part of the community itself through his gaze.
