i had to watch this for film class but i don’t have the stamina to write an essay on it, all i wanna say is that powell and pressburger were fucking geniuses and they knew their shit. the stairway to heaven? a goddamn escalator? genius! this film is pretty funny too, quite sophisticated, light comedy. also i’m here for that subtle poc rep, was not expecting to see that in a british film of the 40s. anyway this is another old film that deserves all the hype, might just give it five stars on my second viewing lol
