A Ghost Story 2017
Great until it's exhausting. Would've made for a nice, Weerasethakul-inspired short film but starts to feel like self-parody around the halfway mark. The back half is painfully pretentious, far astray from the lovely first section.

“Maybe love … transcends time and space!"
Yeah righto. A gorgeous film dragged down by lazy, hollow storytelling. Also just turns really terrible and absurd in its last quarter. But maybe I need to watch this again. I don't know. I just didn't have a great time and that's with IMAX and champagne and everything. Mostly disappointing.
