Sam’s review published on Letterboxd:
A truly melancholic and somber tale. I fully enjoyed The Favourite and the way it told its story. The sweeping low shots, the gentle rotating shots and the score give this movie a very dreamlike feel. Like you're slipping into it and can only watch the ride. Olivia Colman gives a brilliant performance, truly worthy of the Oscar she earned. Stone and Weisz play their roles perfectly as two women pitted against each other to become, 'The Favourite'.
My only small gripe is the use of a fisheye lens now and then which sort of seemed randomly placed. But it did not alter my overall view in any way.
A truly wonderful piece of cinema.
