An interesting blend of ghost story, the struggles of an undocumented immigrant, and something harder to explain. There are some good spooky scenes here, but it's held back by the landlord being so obviously vilainy. He'd twirl that moustache if it wasn't so held in place by nicotine stains. I won't say how that eventually plays out since throughout the movie I was questioning if he was meant to be a really obvious red herring. I liked the lead, and honestly the landlord does a decent job as well despite my complaints. It does go to some places I didn't expect, and to avoid spoilers I'll just say I really liked the last 20 minutes.
