The Danish Girl ★★★★½

Described to me as "too sad to recommend," but I think it's pretty damn great - and I definitely recommend it. It is a sad movie, but more so engaging in its quest for identity and acceptance. Beautifully shot and brilliantly acted, it's a return to form for Tom Hooper whose adaptation of Les Miserables was mediocre at best. Eddie Redmayne and Elicia Vikander are what make the movie worth it alone.
