Matt’s review published on Letterboxd:
A very moving portrait of hearing loss and learning to be content with life. As someone with severe hearing loss I really appreciated this film. I do love how this film forces one to pay attention to the sound design, an often overlooked tool applied astoundingly here. This is Riz Ahmed’s best performance yet, but I also want to shoutout Paul Raci’s soulful performance as his wise and experienced mentor. The film does follow the beats you might expect but does take a couple turns, ending on a very good note without ever feeling cheap. Definitely one of the year’s strongest films.
