When you look at the actual plot, the film looks a lot less original than it feels. Rich sociopath who murders isolated woman to feel alive? That’s a cliche at this point.

But, I think the way it unfolds and the performances are both very strong. And that keeps you invested.

I also appreciate that there is only one moment of violence and it’s used really well.

I can’t help but feel, though, that it might have been more interesting if he was actually burning down greenhouses.
