Matt Wood’s review published on Letterboxd:
After hearing about this for so long I was surprised by how much of a teen studio movie it was. They certainly weren’t going for timeless when picking music. And the casting feels like they grabbed from the pre-approved roster.
However, I could also see why people talk about it. There is something more under the surface. The interesting thing to me is that it’s obvious something is there, but I don’t quite get it. I haven’t read any explanations yet, but I wonder if it’s just because I don’t have experience with female friendships. It feels like it’s saying something, but not to me.
