The first of Academy Award winner Sam Mendes' Bond run. Obviously the best looking of the modern set. The Deaks killed it as usual. Javier delivering his best villain since Anton Churgh. Naomie Harris as Moneypenny - mega yes to that. A hell of a lot of great set pieces, including a damn subway crash. It's always played like a stately remix of some classic Bond themes and elements. The sort of thing Force Awakens tried and was (for me at least) a half success. Skyfall is more a long the lines of Creed. The legacy makes it better, but as a stand alone it's a fun as hell action picture that's style punches up the concept.
