Douglas Greenwood’s review published on Letterboxd:
An absolutely fine French drama with a messed up dial on who we should be feeling sympathy for, in a film about how a wealthy author takes jobs from unemployed people on state welfare in order to... Do them a favour?
I jest, I found lots to appreciate here: a scattering of strong supporting characters with believable backstories; a film that at least mildly scratches the surface of the issue at hand, if not quite deep enough, and a final scene that captures the tone you hope the film would have hit far earlier than it does.
I liked it, but it does feel strangely safe and inoffensive for a film that has plenty of opportunities to enrage you. You will have seen many films like this.
