Dov Doviak’s review published on Letterboxd:
For the fourth installment of the Alien franchise, yet another phenomenal director takes a crack at Scott's universe. Working from Joss Whedon's camp-heavy script, Jean-Pierre Jeunet combines self-aware not-taking-itself-too-seriously tone a la the better installments of Friday the 13th (mainly VI) with some surprisingly fascinating sci-fi concepts and themes. Whedon's one-liners occasionally cross into eye-rolling territory, but Alien: Resurrection is entertaining throughout, which is much more than Alien 3 can say. It has a great deal of flaws, but the ideas explored will definitely have me revisiting this one.
