Dov Doviak’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is one of the two instances where a franchise changing from numbered sequels to non-numbered ones is actually justified because of how much the franchise altered direction. Bride Of Chucky takes the most popular aspect of the titular character his comedic wit, and abandons the rest completely. The film follows Chucky reconnecting with an old flame and operates similarly to a chaotic road trip movie as they get into shenanigans left and right with no regard for how it effects others. Unfortunately, without the empathizable, terrified human element being tethered to him, I find Chucky largely intolerable.
