Dov Doviak’s review published on Letterboxd:
Less than 18 months after Ringu's release, the fourth, that's right, fourth Sadako-centric installment comes in the form of a Korean remake. To put it kindly, The Ring Virus is an aggressively purposeless waste of space. I've always been in favor of remakes as long as they have something new to bring to the material, but this film has no such substance, intellectual or otherwise, to offer anything. This is an unnecessarily drawn out rehash of the Japanese classic that goes out of its way to over-explain the supernatural elements and drag down the quality story in any way it can...Chances are you weren't aware this film existed before reading this, and as you continue scrolling down, it would behoove you to forget you did.
