    Not a single character in the film does the right thing, or the decent thing, or even the comprehensible thing.

    That being said, John Krasinski gives a genuinely good and charming performance? Like way better than anything a film like this deserves? Extra half a star.

    Still brilliant. The only people upset Anthony Hopkins won Best Actor are the ones who haven’t seen this film. Masterful editing, a beyond-impressive directorial debut, and engaging production design.

    Deserving of its Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar, too. Some funny dialogue bits, but more importantly the structure plays out like a horror film, not knowing what’s real or how much time has elapsed.

    If you still haven’t seen this film, you should; Hopkins’ performance will be cited for years to come.…
